Visas with an Authorization

Requirements

This type of visa can be a Government / Escort / Visiting organization and diplomatic mission or Personal visit visa.

The sponsor in Saudi Arabia must apply for a visa authorization through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once the application is approved, it will appear in the MOFA system. The sponsor must provide the applicant with a copy of the visa slip.

Please submit:

  1. One of the following:
    1. a copy of the visa authorization slip
    2. The visa authorization number, plus the civil registration number (computer number) or iqama number of the sponsor
  2. Visa application form (Typed out or hand written in block letters), please see “Embassy visa application form (Two Pages)” below.
  3. A valid passport for six months at least from the application date, including the place of birth and two blank pages side by side. (Original Only).
  4. One recent (No more than a month old), photo specifications as for Canadian passport photo click here.
  5. If you are traveling with your family and they are on your visa authorization or your visa slip indicates that you are visiting a family member, please note that the Saudi consulate in Ottawa would like to inform you that starting May, 2016, and for all types of visas that require a proof of relationship to the sponsor (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.), such certificate:
    1. If the certificate is issued from of Canada, please submit one of the following only:
      1. Submit the original with a copy for us and we will return the original.
      2. Notarized by a Canadian notary public or a commission of oat, and Authenticated by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs.
    2. If Birth and Marriage Certificate from outside Canada (not Saudi or any other arabic country) shoud be:
      1. In English or translated to English or Arabic.
      2. Notarized by a Canadian notary public or a commission of oat and Canadian Foreign affairs.
    3. If Birth and Marriage Certificate from Arabic Countries we will accept to see the original with a copy for us and we’ll return the original or a copy stamped from their Embassies in Canada.
    4. If the document is a Saudi Birth or Marriage Certificates are accepted even if it is a copy.
  6. Flight Itinerary must be provided with consideration of the following points:
    1. The KSA Embassy has advised that no ticket should be purchased before issuance of the visa.
    2. The KSA Embassy in Ottawa can issue visas that allow travelers to enter KSA by air exclusively. No Entry By Land.
    3. Please ensure that your entry airport is the closest to your sponsor’s location. The port of entry to KSA must be the same or the closest airport to the location of the sponsor. If the sponsor invited the applicant to conduct business/visit in a different city other than the one displayed in the company’s Registration Certificate, the sponsor must provide a letter in Arabic explaining the reason for this. An example can be for conducting business in another branch/location of the company.
  7. Additional specific requirements:
    1. For GOVERNMENT VISA: please submit a letter from the Canadian company/ employer introducing the applicant. This letter must be stamped by the company/corporate seal and signed by an officer of the company other than applicant himself or herself.
    2. For MISSION AND ORGANIZATION: please submit a letter from the organization presenting the applicant. This letter must be stamped by the company and signed by an officer of the company other than applicant himself or herself.
    3. For an independent applicant or applicant not representing any company (please send a letter stating your position, in addition to your qualifications and experience which must be matching with your business trip activities and sponsor Saudi company).

  8. Please submit the second page of Embassy visa application form: “NOTIFICATION TO ALL AGENTS AND ALL APPLICANTS”
