Family Visit Visa

Requirements

The sponsor in Saudi Arabia must apply for a visa authorization through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once the application is approved, it will appear in the MOFA system. The sponsor must provide the applicant with copy of visa slip.

Please submit:

  1. One of the following:
    1. a copy of the visa authorization slip
    2. The visa authorization number, plus the civil registration number (computer number) or iqama number of the sponsor
  2. Visa application form (Typed out or block letter written)
  3. One recent (No more than a month old) photographs (4×6 cm) on a plain white background (write name, signature and stamp date on back).
  4. A valid passport copy for at least seven (7) months valid from the application date including the place of birth, (Passport copy Only). All nationals must have separate passports even for children.
  5. Please note that the Saudi consulate in Ottawa requesting that for all types of visas that require a proof of relationship to the sponsor (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.), such certificate:

    Proof of relationship to the sponsor please submit a certificate issued for proof of relationship to the sponsor (a marriage certificate for the spouse, and a birth certificate for a child, brothers, sisters, indicating name of parents), must be indicating the relationship clearly as son, daughter, husband, wife and etc.

    Can be one of the following:

    1. An Original certificate (will be returned with your passport)
    2. If the document is a Saudi issued Birth, Marriage Certificates are accepted even if it is a copy.
    3. If Pakistani passport or Pakistani Notional ID card or Indian, Syrian, Palestinian, Sudanese, Egyptian passport or any official family book record must be showing the relationship clearly (Full names of the father or mother) and any one of the following are acceptable:
      1. Original document. Or.
      2. A notarized copy by a Canadian notary public, and Authenticated by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs (Global Affairs Canada).
  6. Non-Canadian applicants must submit a notarized photocopy of their valid residency permit (Permanent Residence Card). Send only a copy of the front and back sides of the PR card. The copy must be notarized by a Notary Public and stamped by Global Affairs Canada, Authentication of Documents Department. The Notary must state on the copy that it’s a true copy of the original.
  7. Copy of a valid document showing legal status of the sponsor by one of the following:
    1. Residency Permit of the sponsor IQAMA (if the invited applicant is a relative of the sponsor).
    2. The iqama of the sponsor and the iqama of his/her spouse are needed (if the invited applicant is a relative of the spouse of the sponsor).
    3. Evidence of Saudi citizenship if the sponsor is a Saudi national.
  8. Flight Itinerary must be provided with consideration of the following points:
    1. The KSA Embassy has advised that no ticket should be purchased before issuance of the visa.
    2. The KSA Embassy in Ottawa can issue visas that allow travelers to enter KSA by air exclusively. No Entry By Land.
    3. Please ensure that your entry airport is the closest to your sponsor’s location. The port of entry to KSA must be the same or the closest airport to the location of the sponsor. If the sponsor invited the applicant to conduct business/visit in a different city other than the one displayed in the company’s Registration Certificate, the sponsor must provide a letter in Arabic explaining the reason for this. An example can be for conducting business in a another branch/location of the company.
  9. Visa validity is 3/12 months from date of visa issue.
  10. Please submit the second page of Embassy visa application form: “NOTIFICATION TO ALL AGENTS AND ALL APPLICANTS”
  11. Proof of sponsor’s valid Iqamah: Please provide a screenshot from www.absher.sa showing the expiry dates of your sponsor’s Iqamah.
